Inhalater INH-06 BoxJust recently, Pharmacor Technologies (based out of Montreal, Quebec) released the newest member of their portable vaporizer line, the Inhalater INH-06. In the past I’ve reviewed the INH-05, and to this day it remains one of my favorite portable vapes thanks to its great taste, lightweight form factor, and high quality engineering.

After unboxing my INH-06, the first thing that hit me was the size and weight of the unit. Weighing in at just 83 grams, the 06 has a very sleek form factor and is definitely one of (if not the) the lightest vapes on the market alongside the 05. Aside from being highly portable, the professional looking design of the unit allows it to sit just as comfortably on a desk as in your pocket without attracting too much attention. At the base of the unit there’s a switch to select a temperature setting, and the settings range between 1-9 (plus a special ‘auto’ setting which selects an optimal vaporization temperature for you).

In addition to a number of small aesthetic refinements over the INH-05, what really makes the INH-06 stand out from its predecessor is the addition of Pharmacor’s new ‘Pulse Extraction Technology’. When the unit is turned on and Pulse extraction is enabled, it temporarily puts the device into overdrive mode, allowing you to achieve greater vapor production. My favorite thing about this new technology is the ability to be able to use a lower temperature setting and then activating the boost mode only when you need to inhale (thus conserving battery life while at the same time avoiding overcooking your herb between puffs). By experimenting with different base temperatures and then holding down the pulse action of time you can deliver large clouds of vapor in a very short period of time! To activate pulse extraction mode, simply turn on your unit to a desired setting, hold down the button in the middle until the blue LED turns from flashing to solid (this should take a few seconds to achieve), and then take a nice inhale! The amount of boost applied varies depending on which temperature setting you’ve chosen (stay tuned for a more detailed graph of exactly how much the temperature is boosted for each setting!).

Much like the INH-05, the 06 uses specially designed polymide capsules which have adjustable airflow and can hold approximately 0.3 grams of finely ground loose leaf. According to Pharmacor, “Polyimide is a synthetic resin with remarkable proprieties. Properties include thermal stability, with great mechanical and chemical resistance. Polyimide is used in many high-tech applications like space shuttles and medical devices due to its high resistance to heat. We have been using polyimide for our capsules for years now and have been enjoying its unique properties that have made vaporizing convenient and easy for so many.” Personally, I find that the polymide capsules are a great innovation for use in a portable vaporizer, as they are completely inert, weigh very little compared to glass (also much less fragile), and can heat up and cool down much faster, making changing bowls at a party a breeze!

Although I strongly suggest using the polyamide capsules to achieve the best vaporization experience possible, Pharmacor also offers glass capsules on the Inhalater website as an alternative. There’s also replacement polymide capsules on their website (but you can clean capsules a number of times by using a solution of isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip). Despite the system working great, one small downside is that there is currently no way to vape straight BHO (traditional hash works great however, just sandwich some in between some regular loose leaf and set a slightly higher temperature than normal!). Pharmacor also offers a waterpipe adapter so that you can attach your unit to pretty much any bong to increase the smoothness of the hits even further.

INH-06 No Cap

After filling up my capsule with some potent loose leaf, I set my device to 4 to start, and within thirty seconds the unit was ready for use. I was quite impressed by how fast the unit is able to warm up (mostly thanks to the heat chamber design as well as the thermal conductivity of the capsules), and the 06 definitely had some of the fastest warm-up times of any portable I’ve tried so far. The vapor produced by the INH-06 is very smooth, and you can adjust just how smooth it is by adjusting the capsule airflow. Likewise, the pulse extraction mode was very fast to activate, and it generally added about ten seconds to the initial warm up time. With the pulse action in combination with a watertool (and the right capsule airflow setting), I was able to get huge clouds of vapor out of my unit, allowing for a wide spectrum of possible settings for every situation.

Furthermore, the battery is quite long lasting, and I was able to plenty of bowls out of a full charge (enough to last more than a day of medium vaping, and a full day of heavy vaping with friends depending on which temperature setting I choose). The unit uses a standard USB charging port and can be used while charging so I haven’t run into any issues with being unable to use my unit due to a dead battery.

Overall, the Inhalater INH-06 has impressed me quite a bit and I absolutely love the level of control you can achieve by taking advantage of the new pulse extraction feature. However, I do feel there’s a few issues with the build quality and reliability of the units.

  1. hey! Thanx for the post as always very helpful and informative tell me what you think of this version of the Inhalater6 new features anything missing ?

  2. Hi

Was the removable battery in the 05 problematic?

Thought to buy, but don’t want issues.

Oh Also, what’s the difference between the 04 and 06?

    1. Buy the one reviewed above instead of the 05.

If you wanted the 05 s with the removable battery function, they are still available though. The battery can be replaced on that model with a bit of a but. on the downside, you may want to take it to a professional watch repair place if you have that issue.

My 05 is still working strong, and I would not open it to do that myself. If charged properly you will have years of use potentially. I’m lucky that way, still working, it still goes strong, but the extra batteries I might not need until it won’t work at all. That’s years off at this point. Opening up the unit is dangerous if you don’t know and haven’t got the appropriate tools at home. The local watch repair guy might be the place to start. Check the yellow pages. Or just live with the design of the 06. The PULSE extraction method is the new rage and the unit is built with a singe use rechargeable battery, not replaceable, but it’s still a lot better than any vape on the market when you factor in things like:
      reloadable factor
      easily bongable.
good luck, this vape is very hard to beat overall and killer highs.

    1. you don’t have to remove the battery and on this ONE model – you can’t. For their previous units where it’s possible, it’s really at your own peril. Most people did it on their own rather than taking them to a professional of some sort. Most lost their units and opened them incorrectly, using mainly guess work crossing fingers as a general guide.

The units were made for skilled tradesmen to work with on the inside, and the more you open them up, the more you become skilled yourself, so you are essentially training yourself. That said, at $200 dollars a unit you’d better get good fast OR

order the new INH 6 which is reviewed above. You will NOT BE ABLE to open it BUT you likely won’t have any breakage issues, since most problems arouse out of improper replacement of a battery such as crimping the plastic electrical cable which is too bad, it’s so easy to do.

You’ll be happier with an INH 6 because it’s the 3rd evolution of this vape that we’ve seen in as many years. The previous models have ranged from too hot, to too cool and the nice thing about this one in comparison is it let’s you get a great HOT vapor HIT, but then to bring the temp back down low so you don’t have to vape all of your weed all there right then at once which because of the Hot HOT heat, it’s perhaps a bit too hot.

      This one won’t be.

If you like the hot, the INH 5 s is a battery swap-out-able model but it get’s too hot. You have to dial back the heat repeatedly during the session, but it’s got two 12.5 watt heaters in there versus one in this 06 version, so this model is dialed back on the heat part which is partly good, but the outer shell, the new KEVLAR look is outstanding.

Inhalater also has the 05 model which is $150 and that’s a good buying in phase if you’re not completely sure and you wanna try. The 05 is great, I have one of those as well. Get them all, but replace batteries carefully or not at all, like me.

      1. I definitely agree with this! Even though you technically can replace the batteries of the older models, it can add a lot of wear and tear to the wiring inside the battery compartment, which is what I think caused people to have issues in the first place. I have a year old INH-05 which is still going strong, and I have yet to swap batteries on it. With the microUSB port its pretty easy to find a place to charge it almost anywhere.

  3. How long does the battery take to charge on the 6? I know partly the reason people removed the battery from the 5 is because it took a ridiculously long time to charge through USB, and so they put the batteries in a standalone fast-charger.

Also, with the single heating element, do you find you only get visible vapor around the 7-8 mark?

    Thanks 🙂

    1. Hey Josh,

visually you will see vapor at around 7 yes, but with the boost you’ll retain a better taste for the whole 9 minutes.

Set the temp dial at about 4. When you hit the extra boost, it walks you up to about 7.5…
That’s how to get the best taste

the battery charging guys with the 05 model had a warranty issue and I’d still recommend getting one of each model, if it works out that there’s an issue that way you won’t be jonesing while waiting for the shipping. It’s covered under warranty, and I know there service is great but stoners don’t always make for patient patients when it comes to their medicine haha.

the world is made in china, and even the top lap tops on the market are made there, so tech companies always troubleshoot and that issue was resolved for this 6 model, but the 05 is cheaper and covered under an excellent warranty.

One example though is a GERMAN made vape company that stamps right on there ‘made in germany’ but they have a sealed battery compartment and when the batt dies, you send them the unit along with $50 bucks and they pretend to fix it.

Obviously if YOU cannot figure out how to open it, there is no way.,

None of there customers have found a way either. So perhaps people need to deal with the fact that the things are made to make maximum profit in the world these days, weather it’s cars, computers, fender guitars, or vapes.

At least Inhalater give you the OPTION of doing the battery swap out yourself, but admittedly if you miss, it cost you everything.

You wanna watch not to crimp the plastic electrical ribbon which is attached to the part right under the cap. If you take off the cap even on the 6 (not recommended though ) it has that ribbon tucked in and the boost wires are what prohibits you from removing the battery…

you send it in to them and they will magically for a fee put in a new battery, just like the other big made in Germany guys, but but and but, if you do it yourself, you’ll lose the boost feature ( that sucks ) but you could still use it just like an 05, or 004xp with the temp dial at the bottom.

So at least inhalator treats you like a big boy, you can make the choice yourself and send it in or do it yourself and rip your boost wires, just if you’re cheaping it that much, consider they are there and they also sell a pick tool to clean get the screen out and clean the air intake holes.

I recently found you could stick the q-tip INTO like you have to apply a bit of pressure, but if you remove most of the cotton, not all but most, then a bit of iso, not too much, and then push it right into the hole…. cleans it right out and they work like new.

Many people that don’t think they perform that well, are actually using old ones that if cleaned work just like they did brand new.

Inhalater charges to do the same cleaning….. [email protected]

finally…. my favorite vape of all time of get an 05 too…. that way you have one to learn on and if you occasionally remove the battery, you might be okay. When you put the cap back on make sure the electrical ribbon is tucked on the inside of thc cap so you don’t crimp it when reinserting it…

      good luck
