Durable, affordable, and long lasting, the EpicVape E-nano (my review here!) is certainly one of my favorite desktop vapes for the price and its definitely one of the best looking! Not too long ago I was able to obtain a custom made stem courtesy of Ed’s TnT, and considering that I’ve previously reviewed the Ed’s TnT Oak stem for the Arizer Air (deeming it to be an excellent replacement for the stock stem) I was certainly excited to see how the E-nano replacement stem would fare!
The stem was handcrafted and measures 4 inches in length (10cm) with an outer diameter of a little less than 1/2″ (it fits the E-nano perfectly!). There is a range of different styles of wood available which you can choose from, and mine was carved from African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon). The stem itself is made from wood, whereas the base is made from stainless steel which matches the E-nano’s heat chamber. The bowl sits inside the steel piece, and it can be deteched from the rest of the stem when it comes time for cleaning. According to Ed, “To clean them [e-Nano stems] I suggest dipping a cotton swab in high proof alcohol, I use everclear, squeeze out the excess and then swab the inside of the stem a few times. You can also swab out the bushing if you like, the bushing itself can be soaked in what ever you like though. Let the pieces dry and slip the wood shaft back within the bushing and you are back up and running.” To clean the outside of the stem I recommend wiping it down with a damp washcloth.
After using the stem for several days, I found that I didn’t notice a huge difference in terms of draw or taste when using Ed’s stem over the stock one, however I do find that it has several other advantages. Firstly, Ed’s stem is built out of durable materials rather than glass, so you don’t need to worry about it breaking from dropping it like you would with the stock stem. Secondly, it has a slightly larger bowl than the stock stem, and this can be ideal in situations where you’d like to split a bowl with a friend. Finally, I find it to be much more stylish than the glass which has made it a conversation piece a few times when I show it to my friends!
Overall, I’d say that the Ed’s TnT E-nano replacement stem is an elegant stem with a larger bowl that can be used as an improvement over the standard E-nano stem. I recommend the replacement stem if durability is something you need, or if you’re just looking for something elegant for your desk!
