Although vaporization is much healthier than smoking cannabis, many people find that vapor can be hot, dry, and irritating to the throat (especially if you use a whip rather than a bag attachment).
Fortunately, there exists a simple solution to this problem, using a waterpipe to cool down your vapor.
Attaching a Waterpipe
There are two ways that you can attach your bong to your vaporizer. Firstly, make sure that you have the ability to use a whip attachment (the Volcano Vaporizer is not compatible, since it uses a bag system). The Arizer Extreme Q and V-Tower are especially suited to using a waterpipe, and you can easily purchase a bong attachment (the attachment is compatible with all non-portable whip vaporizers;for a Pax 2).
Once you have the proper connector and a waterpipe, simply connect your vaporizer to the bong, and take hits like you normally would. The vapor will be much cooler, allowing you to take bigger hits and hold them in for longer without coughing. Since any exhaled vapor is a waste, a bong attachment can help you to better conserve marijuana with your vaporizer.
Some of the more adventurous types may wish to make their own waterpipes out of glass bottles. I have had success in turning 40-oz Jack Daniels bottles into waterpipes using a glass drill bit and a stem that fits properly.
One of my favorite things about connecting a vaporizer to a bong is getting to mix the best of two worlds. I love vaporization, and getting to take big vaporized bong rips can really help you to unwind at the end of a stressful day.
