One of the most common questions people ask me relating to marijuana vaporizers is do vaporizers smell?
Although this question is valid, it is highly dependent on the vaporizer used.
If you’re in a medium sized room with no airflow, then no one will be able to smell anything outside the room you’re in. However, if you have a forced air heating system, then it is likely air will spread around your home and people will notice the smell. In my aparment with baseboard heating, no one notices the smell from these vapes. However, in my friends house with a forced air system, the smell is slightly detectable, especially if you have quality bud. The Pax Vaporizer produces a slightly smellier atmosphere than the other portable vapes, and it can be detectable in rooms, but with the smell of burnt popcorn.
Different Types of Vaporizers
Secondly, There are the plugin vaporizers, which include models such as the Arizer Extreme Q and the Volcano Vaporizer. These vaporizers produce quite a bit of smell, but again it depends on the quality of bud that you are vaporizing. Lower quality buds will produce a faint smell, but high grade weed will produce enough smell to make it noticeable in a room. However, if you don’t have forced air heating, then again the smell will only be detectable in the room you’re in.
Quality of Bud
It is also important to keep in mind that high quality bud will produce a smell on its own, especially after ground. It is recommend that you keep your stash in a glass case or quality stash box when not in use.
Overall, portable vaporizers produce less smell than their plugin counterparts. I recommend evalutating how much space you have available, and then deciding on the vaporizer you’d like to purchase. If you have a full size apartment, then a full size vaporizer will present no problems.
